Joachim Löw Open to Coaching a National Team at the 2026 World Cup

Former Germany head coach Joachim Löw, who led his country to World Cup glory in 2014, has expressed interest in managing a national team at the FIFA World Cup 2026, set to take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. In a recent interview, Löw stated: “There have been offers over the past two years, but I wasn’t excited about them. I will consider interesting opportunities.”

Since leaving the German national team after Euro 2021, where his squad was eliminated by England in the Round of 16, Löw has taken a break from coaching. At 64, he acknowledges that he doesn’t feel the same urgency as younger managers, who must constantly secure new positions to advance their careers.

Reflecting on his past decisions, Löw admitted that after Germany’s disappointing 2018 World Cup campaign, where they failed to progress beyond the group stage, he “should have stepped aside to make way for fresh ideas.”

With years of experience and time to reflect, Löw is now open to returning to the international stage, potentially leading a team at the upcoming 2026 World Cup.
